Lincoln University has been awarded a $2 million grant from the Thurgood Marshall College Fund (TMCF) as part of a national initiative to strengthen historically Black colleges and universities (HBCUs) through research, operations, and innovation. The grant, funded by Lilly Endowment Inc., is part of TMCF’s Project HBCU Capacity Building — a $25 million investment in eight HBCUs to expand student success programs, modernize operations, and build long-term institutional capacity.
Lincoln’s winning proposal, “Restore the Roar: Rebuilding the Lincoln University Brand and Reputation as a Top-Tier Liberal Arts HBCU,” reflects the university’s bold commitment to innovation, academic excellence, and student achievement. It is aimed at elevating Lincoln’s national presence as a premier Liberal Arts Institution. “This investment is a bold affirmation of Lincoln’s unwavering vision for the future,” said Harry Stinson III, Interim Vice President of Institutional Advancement. “Through this initiative, we are not only expanding our capacity—we are cultivating environments where our students can thrive, lead, and become catalysts for global change. It’s a strategic step forward in reinforcing Lincoln’s position as a premier liberal arts institution committed to excellence, leadership development and empowerment.”
TMCF President and CEO Dr. Harry L.
